All Books Read in 2022

I just posted about the books I read this month. With this being the last day of the year, it's time to tally all the books I read this year! This was the whole point of keeping track of my reading progress on my blog. I wanted to keep track of books I read this year. Sadly, there is just one book I will not be able to finish reading tonight. It will go into my new reading journal as a book I finished reading next month. When I was counting up all the books read in all 12 blog posts, I found an error: Somehow or another, I got the numbers wrong! This started with the August blog post. I went back and fixed ALL of them. Now all of the correct numbers are in the posts from August to the present. I am just glad I still managed to read over 100 books this year! I beat my old record! Yay! Anyway, here is the CORRECT number of books I read this year. 1. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald 2. How to Crochet: A Guide for Newbies by Sarah Taylor 3. Four Gifts: Seeking Self-Care for He

Reading Progress for December 2023

I thought that November was a busy month but the month of December proved to be even busier! It wasn’t just the holiday season that had us busy; I was also doing a lot of writing. I managed to write another ebook this month as well as a children’s book. This was in addition to some articles I wrote, as well.   Aside from the writing, I was also busy with driving my oldest to and from work. Both of my kids went on Winter Break this month but my oldest works at the university so he had some remote work for this particular job.   My youngest also got their driver’s permit this month. My husband and I have been taking turns monitoring them while they practice driving. My oldest does not drive so my youngest has had the chance to drive him to or from work. It has certainly been a nice break from me driving so much! Plus, my youngest joined the LGBTQ+ group which my oldest attends every week, so with both of them going there, it’s less driving and less rush for one of them. That

Things to Keep in 2023

While I have been busy reviewing the year to see what goals I accomplished both as a writer and an author, I have also been reviewing personal goals from this year. This year, I wanted to try something new every month for this year. Sadly, I was not able to do all of the things on my list, but I did do some things. Some of them have worked out well but others did not. Meanwhile, I have also been thinking about other new things from this year. Here is a list of the new things from this year which I will keep in 2023 and beyond: 1. Tracking the books I am reading this year. I have done this on my blog this year, but starting in 2023, I will keep track of books I read in a year in a reading journal. 2. Posting at least one book review on my personal book review blog. 3. Working out at the local Y. I have interacted with some amazing people there and the staff are great! 4. My monthly newsletter. Many thanks to my publisher at Filbert Publishing for suggesting it! I work on putting it toge

A Very Merry Christmas

My Christmas Eve wasn’t so great yesterday. I mean, yes, some good things happened: I finally got back an interview for the monthly newsletter (thanks, Natasha!), I got to watch Die Hard , the peanut butter blossom cookies I made for the very first time turned out really good and so yummy, and hubby made a nice Christmas Eve dinner, but some bad things happened too. I was missing my parents, I was sick with a queasy stomach for most of the day, I had a headache that lasted for hours that NOTHING helped (not even my prescription headache medicine!) and hubby bit my head off over the kitchen being messy. All of that put me into a DEEP depression and I just locked myself in my room for a while to try to calm down. (I tried to read on my phone but it wasn’t working!)   Still, I know the day could have been worse. The holidays are hard for a lot of people. My oldest recently had to talk someone out of trying to commit suicide and a new friend is having her first Christmas without he
