Books Read in June

How is it already the end of June? It feels like the month just flew right by. And already, half of the year is over.   I guess we fail to notice how swiftly time slips away when we are so busy with everything going on in our lives. For this month in particular, there are graduations and Father’s Day.   And for the first time in a long time, we in the Wilson household got to experience both of those events this month. My youngest, Jax, graduated and reached the milestone of moving on to higher education. So not only did he say goodbye to high school this month but he also started taking a class at the local community college. We are very proud of Jax and excited for what his future holds.   My husband had a nice Father’s Day this year. Our oldest and his partner joined us for dinner, and my husband enjoyed receiving his gifts. We also had lots of laughs while watching the movie Kung Fu Hustle .   As for me, the writing continued this m...

Books Read in February

A writing gig I had that ended last month may have come to an end, but I was still very busy during the month of February. Not only was it a busy month for me, but it was also certainly a month of ups and downs.   Fortunately, I kept up with writing in my journal every day this month. I just kept putting one foot in front of the other and did the things that I had to do.   We did have my son’s dog’s one-year deathversary this month. And that was really hard. We miss him SO MUCH. I’m still so heartbroken over this loss.     That is our last family picture with him. I was to...

Books Read in 2025

For a while there this year, I was thinking that I kept reading the same kinds of books. There wasn’t much variety going on with my reading routine. And variety is something I crave! I wanted to change things up and add some different books.   I had the opportunity to do just that this year when I resumed reviewing books for Reader Views again. This happened after I realized that, you know, I had acted like a real bitch when I threw a fit over the many edits of one review, so I reached out with a long and heartfelt apology for my behavior. Thankfully, they forgave me – and invited me to come back to their team of book reviewers. Of course I said yes! I was thrilled by the opportunity to review books for them again and I haven’t looked back since.   It also helped that, this year, I subscribed to a digital subscription with Alien Buddha Press. I receive a digital copy of every book they publish, and it has been A LOT of books received from them this year...
