Reading Progress for September 2022

Image
Got a shorter list of books this month. I got VERY busy with the content writing gig. Plus, there were days I had really bad headaches and could not get much reading done. My youngest also started high school this month so we were busy with everything related to that as well.   I am still happy with my progress all the same. Some months will just be busier than others, and that means less opportunity to read every day! But I still try to squeeze in time to read no matter what is going on, even if it’s just for a little bit of time.   This list is a combination of books I finished reading this month as well as books I read for the month. They all still count as books read in 2022 (the goal of this project) so they are all numbered accordingly.   Books I Finished Reading This Month:   74. The Story of My Life by Helen Keller   75. ByTheWay by Dennis Santos   76. Claws by Russell James   Books Read This Month:   77. Inspirational Poems Volume I by B

Photo credit: The blowup/unsplash I haven't done a celebration post for some time. Since good things have happened today, I feel I should mark the occasion by writing a celebration post!   And I have reason to celebrate today! Even now, as I write this, I am smiling. I am just really happy.   But I am also feeling very grateful too. Just so immensely grateful for the good things that happened today. That "blog post" could be an article. And I soon had a bunch of ideas for things t

Deaf Awareness Month: The Myths About Sign Language

Image
I'm late with this blog post again, but only because between my bad headaches and a looming deadline, I haven't been able to post on here for Deaf Awareness Month on a Friday like I planned to. I even missed Saturday! But as long as I get a post out there at least once each week of the month, then I'm good.   And today is the last day for me to meet Week 3! Well, for me, it is, because I have a deadline on Wednesday, and I will be hunkering down from Monday to Wednesday, working on my article!   So, here is the next post for my efforts to debunk the many myths and misconceptions out there about the Deaf, for the purpose of Deaf Awareness Month. This particular post is about sign language, and there are actually MANY myths and misconceptions about sign language. In this blog post, I will be addressing five of them.   I have a long, torrid history with sign language. Even though I am profoundly deaf, I am not fluent in sign language. Yes! It's true! I have
