Books Read in Frebruary
A writing gig I had that ended last month may have come to an end, but I was still very busy during the month of February. Not only was it a busy month for me, but it was also certainly a month of ups and downs.
Fortunately, I kept up with writing in my journal every day this month. This actually helped me when I was dealing with a lack of motivation to write; writing a whole page in my journal really served as a reminder that I can still write no matter what I was dealing with!
I did deal with quite a few things this month that I would rather not talk about here (that’s what my journal is for!), but fortunately nothing that was life-shattering. I just kept putting one foot in front of the other and did the things that I had to do.
We did have my son’s dog’s one-year deathversary this month. And that was really hard. We miss him SO MUCH. I’m still so heartbroken over this loss.
That is our last family picture with him. I was told to smile for the picture, but I was just so sad, it was hard for me to smile.
We do have a new fur baby, though. Well, my son does. He was fostering a kitten for several months before he ended up adopting her. Her name is Babette and she recently turned two.
Having a new fur baby in the house has meant we are smiling again and cuddling up with an animal that we love again. She has certainly brought a lot of joy to our lives.
Meanwhile, I have kept up with my daily reading habits. I didn’t read as many books this month as I would have liked to, but I’m still happy with the number of books that I did read. I also read an ARC of a book, but it’s not going on the list yet. I will add it to the list of books read next month since the book will be published next month (and I will also post my review of the book after it is released). I also read manuscripts for Twisted Dreams Press and I am beta reading a manuscript for a fellow author. So, yes, I have done a lot of reading this month, even if most of it was not for published books!
This month, I read six books and I finished reading two. Two of the books I read this month are books I read for review purposes. Here are the books. The number picks up from where I left off last month, so it is accurate.
15. The Lost Book of Zeroth by Barbara Harris Leonhard
16. FINISHED READING: The Martian by Andy Weir
17. Blood and Brains: A Double Dosage of Extreme Horror by Judith Sonnet
18. FINISHED READING: Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury
