Books Read in June
How is it already the end of June? It feels like the month just flew right by. And already, half of the year is over.
I guess we fail to notice how swiftly time slips away when we are so busy with everything going on in our lives. For this month in particular, there are graduations and Father’s Day.
And for the first time in a long time, we in the Wilson household got to experience both of those events this month. My youngest, Jax, graduated and reached the milestone of moving on to higher education. So not only did he say goodbye to high school this month but he also started taking a class at the local community college. We are very proud of Jax and excited for what his future holds.
My husband had a nice Father’s Day this year. Our oldest and his partner joined us for dinner, and my husband enjoyed receiving his gifts. We also had lots of laughs while watching the movie Kung Fu Hustle.
As for me, the writing continued this month. I turned in an article to Able News that had a disability focus for America’s semiquincentennial that takes place next month, and hit the books for another “America turns 250” themed article that I submitted today. I’ll still be reading these books for all of this summer, and not just because I have another article on this topic to turn in at the end of July. I posted on BlueSky that my reading goal for this summer was to read everything I could about the Declaration of Independence. I'm doing this in honor of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence (which actually took place in August). Well, I have a lot of books on the subject to ensure I do just that! Twelve of them are in my articles. And I read one of them this month too.
In addition to the many books I read, I added to this month’s list two books that were published by Dreamweaver Press, which finally made its debut this month. I read these books and so they count as “books read this month” and not just books which I published. These are books #75 and #78.
I also read books for the book reviewing gig, for my book review blog (one book, actually), there were a couple of books I read for research, and books I read for leisure.
Overall, this month I managed to read ten books and I finished reading one.
Here are the books I read and finished reading in June. The number picks up from where the last book left off so the count is accurate for books read so far this year.
