Books Read in December
December was certainly a month where I did A LOT of reading! It was also the month where I started and stopped reading many books, mainly because they just weren’t working for me. (I still have them, though. I plan to pick them up to read again at some point. Maybe I will be interested in them then!)
I ended up reading a lot of books this month mainly because of my book reviewing gig. I challenged myself to read 3 books in a week for every week of December but, unfortunately, I was not always able to meet that challenge. Alas! Two books to read in a week is easier for me to manage than three, especially since I have a lot of things going on!
I wanted to read a Christmas book this month, but the only one I read was a children’s book. I still enjoyed it, though, because I love cats and the pictures were cute. I have some Christmas-themed cozy mysteries in my TBR, but I’m not really interested in reading cozy mysteries at this time.
With this being the last month of the year, I will include the books I finish reading this month in my January 2026 post, but they will not be counted as how many books I read in one year. They will just be books I have read! They are still going into my reading journal, too, but just as “Books I finished reading from 2025” and not for any particular list.
There are two lists this time around. Unfortunately, I forgot to add books published by Twisted Dreams Press which I did read but I must have spaced on adding them to my list, because they weren’t added to my list after I read them! I have no idea what number they are on my list of books read this year but they DO still count as part of the “the number of books I have read this year” so I added them after the list of books I read this month.
This month, I read 17 books. That is the biggest amount of books I have read in a month so far! Yay! I also finished reading three books this month.
