2 Things to Celebrate from Today

I was feeling bummed today. Apparently, my goal to learn 12 Things this year has now turned into 11 Things. As I wrote in the post that will be published at the end of the month, August was a bust. The thing I wanted to learn didn't happen. Neither did the second thing I wanted to learn in place of it. So I decided to change ALL the remaining things. I still want to learn something each month for the rest of the year.

But ... WHAT??

Wellll.....something that happened today gave me my answer: WRITING THINGS! I still need to learn how to write copy, scripts, and the thing I will be learning next. And, in fact, it is the first item I have to celebrate.

#1: I posted on Facebook that I wasn't sure what I was going to do with the song lyrics I am typing after I am done typing ALL of them. When a friend suggested that pursuing songwriting professionally just might be a new creative outlet for me to try, I started to think, Maybe I can still do this. I told my friend that I would love to be a professional songwriter but.... I don't know how! I have tried to learn in the past. The word "demo" was thrown around a lot. I was not sure what happens after a demo is made?? Who handles that? What was I supposed to do?? I have had two songs turned into demos before, but nothing happened to them after that. I contacted one of my friends who is local and asked him for more info. He told me his sister is a professional singer who does help people out in learning how to create songs and he gave me info on how to find her. I told him I was definitely interested in communicating with her and I hoped she could help me out and SOLVE THIS GREAT BIG MYSTERY on how the heck to turn lyrics into actual songs. *scratches head* In the past, I read a book about songwriting, but it was way too technical and "scared me off" but when I started typing my lyrics again, I was eager to get involved in that again! So maybe this can be a thing for me to learn in September! My virtual daughter also let me know that she would be happy to use her instruments to help set music to my song lyrics. That would be awesome!

#2: I found a platform to post articles and miscellaneous writings at. It's free, readership is free, there's no stress over earning potential and no pressure to pay for anything. I submitted an article to post but it's still under review. My fingers are crossed that this will be a new site I can use to post my writings at. Hey, it's another website to find me at! I will share the link to the article once it's approved... if it's approved.
