13 Things to Celebrate from Today

Today was a good day, even though I didn’t achieve all of my fitness goals and didn’t mark off everything on my “To Do” list. (Hey! I will keep trying!)

Here are 13 things I have to celebrate from today:

1. I got to see a beautiful sunrise this morning. It was so cloudy this morning, that I didn't think I would see the sun. But the sun made it through! Even better: My picture of the sunrise included the sun and the moon.

2. A book I won in a book giveaway arrived today. Yay! Thank you, Ruth.

3. I wrote 2 articles in one hour!

4. I tried the ELT — egg, lettuce and tomato — sandwich today and it was really good!

5. I was craving M&M’s this morning and later in the day, I was able to get M&M’s. Yay!

6. I made a nice breakfast for me and my kids this morning and it made them happy and we enjoyed eating our meal and I'm glad my oldest had the time to relax and eat his meal without a rush before going in to work.

7. I wrote an article this morning using "they" as a singular pronoun. I was very excited about this because this was the first time I did it! And, even better, it just came so naturally in my writing. I stopped writing at one point to read what I wrote and that's when I realized I was using "they" as a singular pronoun. Very cool! I never liked using "he/she" anyway.

8. I am grateful I got to "spoil" my youngest, who had a dental procedure today. Not only with the nice breakfast but also I got him a Starbucks and he also got to play video games on the computer before we left.

9. I didn’t burn dinner. No, seriously, this is big, because the main course that I cooked is usually burnt when I cook it! For once, I didn't burn it. Or scorch the pan....

10. The school my youngest attends finally posted all student class schedules in the late afternoon of today. My youngest got to be in Drama again, for his final year of junior high. I can’t wait to see him act in a play again — at least, I hope they will be able to do a play this year! (Fingers crossed!)

11. I drank 10 glasses of water today.

12. I finally remembered to put in a refill request on one of my medications. Running out of a medication is a good reminder to request a refill.

13. My husband and I enjoyed a nice, quiet and calm dinner alone this evening since one kid was away at a sleepover and the other was sleeping. I love my kids, but if I can have alone and quiet time with my husband, I’ll take it!
