12 Things to Celebrate from Today
Happy Friday! So glad it's the end of the week. It's the last free week of my youngest's summer vacation and the second whole week that my oldest has been working at his new job. As a parent responsible for their transportation, I am beginning to love Fridays again.
And here I have 12 things to celebrate from today! Wow, twelve! What a great way to end my week.
1. I was able to order a birthday present for my youngest today. This is something that is expensive and he has wanted it for some time. I am very happy that I was able to buy it for him today. Can't wait to give this to him next month!
2. I am also excited that I got to buy two books I have wanted for some time, as well. One of them is a planner I am really looking forward to using next year and another is a book written by one of my publishers.
3. Sometime ago, I mentioned that I wanted to try Wendy's new Big Bacon Cheddar burger. This evening, my husband got Wendy's for dinner, and got me that burger. It was REALLY good!
4. I didn't have to cook dinner!
5. My youngest bought me a Sprite.
6. I asked one of my sisters to read a poem I wrote to offer feedback. She wrote back saying that she liked it.
7. I got 3 free books today! Nice!
8. I have now gone over 200 of the 365+ tips in the book I am revising.
9. I have a new-found appreciation for having gone through that dry period in my writing life, when I wasn't able to write for over 2 years. It was awful, yes, but IT ENDED. It didn't last forever, although when it was happening, it sure as heck felt like it was going to last forever. But it didn't; now I am writing every day! I have been since I started writing again near the end of 2020. I don't regret living life and doing other things while that was going on, though, because that is EXACTLY what we need to be doing! "When you can't write, do something worth writing about." And boy, did I get A LOT of things to write about from that experience when I wasn't writing. But I also came to appreciate it because now I can write from experience on how a writer can handle something like this. Now I can talk about it and share about it because I LIVED IT and know what it's like. So....YAY!!! That's an awesome thing.
10. And of course, I have to celebrate writing again. I am so happy to be writing again. Especially writing books again! It's so awesome.
11. I finished reading a short story today. It took me over a week to read it, but I finally read all of it. “Revelations” by Clive Barker. Good story!
12. My son went out walking to a nearby store this evening to buy snacks and, thankfully, he made it home safely.
